Older Adult Ministries

As we grow older in age it becomes vital that we have people we can count on in our times of need.  At First United Methodist of Fort Gibson we love one another and really take an interest together in caring for our widows and those in the nursing homes.

The Second Sunday of each month we gather at 2:30 p.m. at our local nursing home to sing the old hymns to the residents and our pastor shares a devotion.

If our widows express a need to our church we have many people volunteer to help around their homes, give a ride to the doctor, or to sit and pray through a situation.

Many of our older adults also enjoy getting together and going in the church van for ice cream at Braum's, look at Christmas lights, or for a weekend trip to Branson, MO.

If you are looking for a church that supports and cares for older adults, then the older adult ministry at First United Methodist Church of Fort Gibson is for you!
